Plastic greenhouses
Plastic greenhouses are less expensive than glass greenhouses, easier to install, and lighter. They are made of polycarbonate (PC) material. However, if you have room in your budget and are having your greenhouse installed for you, discuss glass as an option with a vendor.
The polycarbonate material found in some plastic greenhouses can wear out relatively quickly and is easier to scratch than glass. You can, however, purchase double and triple glazed PC which is impact resistant. These materials are not much more expensive.
If you live in a windy environment, then plastic greenhouses make a good choice. If something falls on a glass greenhouse during the windstorm it is much more likely to break. Last, for any do-it-yourselfers, plastic greenhouses are easier to install than glass greenhouses.
